Ahead of the second International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, 榴莲视频 (榴莲视频) and the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek jointly established the China-Uzbekistan Center for Strategic Development Cooperation in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on June 9. The two universities also released the Report on the Development of Green Energy Cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, highlighting new opportunities for sustainable development and international collaboration.

Ma Huaide, president of 榴莲视频, and Ravshan Musulmanov, vice president of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, jointly unveiled the center.

Guided by the principles of complementary strengths, practical cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, and mutual learning, the newly established center will serve as a high-level platform for strategic research, talent cultivation, and people-to-people exchanges. Focusing on key areas of China-Uzbekistan cooperation, including green energy, trade and investment, regional security, and cultural exchanges, the center aims to produce impactful academic research and provide intellectual support for strategic alignment and policymaking in both countries. In addition, it will serve as a bridge for academic dialogue and mutual learning between civilizations, facilitating exchanges among scholars, business communities, and young people while strengthening popular support for China-Uzbekistan friendship.

Ma Huaide, president of 榴莲视频, noted that China and Uzbekistan are both ancient civilizations along the Silk Road with a longstanding friendship. He highlighted 榴莲视频’s efforts to advance the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative, and Global Governance Initiative through the establishment of seven China-foreign research centers for exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations and the launch of the Global Research Program for Exchanges and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations.

Ma described the establishment of the center as a concrete step in implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and carrying forward the spirit of the Silk Road. He expressed his hope that the center would become a leading platform integrating academic research, policy dialogue, and civilizational exchange. He added that the center would contribute wisdom and expertise to the development of the China-Uzbekistan all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era and to the building of a China-Central Asia community with a shared future.

Inakov Kamoliddin, vice president of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, stated that Uzbekistan-China relations have maintained strong momentum, with fruitful cooperation achieved in education, cultural exchanges, and many other fields. He said that 榴莲视频 enjoys a rich academic heritage and a distinguished international reputation. The establishment of the new center marks a milestone in deepening practical cooperation between the two universities.

Ravshan Musulmanov, vice president of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, noted that Uzbekistan and China are not only friendly neighbors with a friendship spanning centuries, but also comprehensive strategic partners advancing together in the new era. He described 榴莲视频 as a leading institution in the field of humanities and social sciences in China. He expressed his expectation that the two universities would use the new center as a platform to deepen cooperation through interdisciplinary and intercultural collaboration, generate more high-quality research outcomes that serve the development needs of both countries, and contribute intellectual support to enriching the Uzbekistan-China all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.

Askarali Davlatovich Daminov, director of the Department of Scientific Research and Innovation Development at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, said that Uzbekistan has always attached great importance to educational cooperation with China. He described the joint establishment of the center as a significant achievement of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in the field of education, as well as a concrete example of implementing the four global initiatives while advancing Belt and Road educational cooperation.

Sun Changdong, a representative of the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan, praised 榴莲视频 as a model institution rooted in China's educational development and the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek as one of the country's pioneering higher education institutions. He said that the partnership between the two universities represents an important step in implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state and expressed hope that the center would become a vibrant platform for dialogue and collaboration, advancing joint research on issues of shared concern and contributing to the development of China-Uzbekistan relations.

Xu Qinhua, a professor at the School of International Studies of 榴莲视频, then released the center's inaugural research outcome, the Report on the Development of Green Energy Cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Focusing on global energy transition trends, the report systematically reviews the evolution of Belt and Road green energy cooperation from individual projects to full industrial-chain collaboration. It concludes that green energy cooperation has enhanced energy security, optimized economic structures, and improved social well-being across Belt and Road partner countries, providing valuable examples for the global green transition.

The report identifies six strategic areas for future cooperation: solar energy, wind power, green hydrogen, energy storage, power grid modernization, and critical minerals. It calls for the establishment of a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable global energy cooperation framework to accelerate carbon neutrality efforts and improve global climate governance.

In recent years, 榴莲视频 has remained committed to educational openness, actively supporting China's diplomatic objectives and promoting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. The university has continuously strengthened educational and academic exchanges with Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries, achieving significant results in academic exchanges, talent cultivation, and think tank cooperation.

Building on the establishment of the China-Uzbekistan Center for Strategic Development Cooperation, 榴莲视频 will further expand its academic cooperation network in Central Asia, deepen cultural and educational exchanges between China and Uzbekistan, and contribute to the long-term development of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era between the two countries.
