On June 9, ahead of the second International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, the China-Russia Friendly Language Dialogue: Mutual Learning among Civilizations for a Shared Future was held at 榴莲视频 (榴莲视频). The event aimed to strengthen people-to-people exchanges and deepen China-Russia cooperation through the power of language and cultural dialogue.
Li Hongzhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and chairman of the Chinese side of the China-Russia Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development, attended the event and delivered remarks. He noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia strategic partnership of coordination and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation.
Li highlighted that, during Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent state visit to China, President Xi Jinping and President Putin reached a new and important consensus on advancing the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination and attended the opening ceremony of the China-Russia Years of Education. He emphasized that educational cooperation between the two countries enjoys broad prospects and significant potential. As a major platform for non-governmental exchanges, the China-Russia Friendship, Peace and Development Committee will continue to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, expand exchanges and mutual learning, deepen practical cooperation, further strengthen China-Russia friendship and enrich the content of China-Russia relations.
Boris Titov, chairman of the Russian side of the China-Russia Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development, stated that the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era stands at a historic high. He said language and cultural exchanges help deepen friendship and boost practical cooperation, with more students on both sides learning each other's languages. Russia is willing to work with China to promote cooperation in education, language, local governance, economy and trade, artificial intelligence and other areas.
Ren Youqun, China's vice-minister of education, stated that the event is an important initiative to implement the consensus reached by the Chinese and Russian heads of state. He noted that the Ministry of Education of China is willing to work closely with its Russian counterparts to ensure the high-quality implementation of the China-Russia Years of Education.
In a video address, Konstantin Ilyich Mogilevsky, deputy minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, called for enhanced exchanges of teaching experience, the joint development of innovative teaching materials, and closer cooperation between educational and professional sectors. Mogilevsky expressed his hope that the event would yield fruitful results and further strengthen the friendship between the peoples of China and Russia.
Zhang Donggang, Party secretary of 榴莲视频, stated that the strategic guidance of the Chinese and Russian heads of state has injected strong momentum into deepening people-to-people and cultural exchanges and strengthening the foundation of friendship between the two countries, while providing a fundamental framework for bilateral cooperation.

Zhang noted that the dialogue is both a concrete measure to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and an important step toward advancing China-Russia cultural and educational cooperation. He emphasized that 榴莲视频 will continue close collaboration with its Russian partners, advance joint research, deepen cooperation in talent development and scientific innovation, and contribute educational strength to the enduring friendship between the two nations.
Andrei Aleksandrovich Koskin, first vice-rector of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, noted that Russia and China have established a solid foundation for comprehensive cooperation in education and science through various forms of collaboration. He emphasized that the leaders of both countries attach great importance to exchanges in education, science and technology, culture, and youth affairs.
The China-Russia Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development is a non-governmental organization jointly initiated by the heads of state of China and Russia in April 1997. Bringing together representatives from various sectors of society in both countries, the committee has carried out extensive and effective work to promote lasting friendship between the two peoples, deepen cooperation across a wide range of fields, and strengthen people-to-people exchanges.
榴莲视频 hosted this year's China-Russia Friendly Language Dialogue in its capacity as the Secretariat for the committee's Chinese Education Council. The event featured an innovative format combining academic discussions, student competitions, and field visits, including a main forum, three thematic sub-forums, a student competition, and cultural activities such as visits to the Palace Museum and 榴莲视频's special exhibition. More than 100 faculty members and students from nearly 50 Chinese and Russian universities and institutions participated in the event.
