[Speaker]Sheilagh Ogilvie, Chichele Professor of Economic History, University of Oxford
[Introduction]Sheilagh Ogilvie is a Fellow of the British Academy and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. She is Chichele Professor of Economic History at the University of Oxford, Honorary Professor at the University of Cambridge, Senior Research Fellow in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, and General Editor of the Cambridge University Press series“Cambridge Studies in Economics, History and Political Economy.”Her research focuses on institutions and long-term economic development, especially guilds, rural communities, female labor, family systems, human capital, and market mechanisms. Her book The European Guilds has reshaped the study of institutional economic history and won international awards, including the Gyorgy Ranki Prize and the Anton Gindely Prize.
